Nauvoo-September 23-30, 2005
Friday, September 23
We travel to Kansas City today on our own schedules. Upon arrival
we are shuttled to our airport area hotel for the evening. This
evening we meet together at a reception as we prepare for our
week ahead.
Saturday, September 24
This morning we begin our week by visiting LDS historical sites
in Missouri. We first visit Liberty Jail. Later we travel north
to visit Farr West and Adam-Ondi-Ahman. We complete our day in
our Hotel in Nauvoo
Sunday, September 25
We enjoy a sacrament meeting this morning in Nauvoo before visiting
the Historical Nauvoo Visitor's Center. Here we enjoy leisure
time to orient ourselves with the area and to feel the special
spirit of this place. We also enjoy the Monument to Women behind
the visitors center. After lunch we visit Carthage Jail before
returning to our hotel.
Monday, September 26
We experience Nauvoo today as we visit the Mansion House, the
Navoo House, the Joseph Smith Homestead, the Smith Family Cemetery,
and the Red Brick Store. After lunch you may choose other sites
that you would like to see. After dinner we enjoy 'Rendezvous
in Old Nauvoo', presented by the missionaries in the Culteral
Hall.
Tuesday, September 27
This morning we attend our temple session in the Nauvoo Temple.
As this is the highlight for many, those who desire to spend extra
time here may do so while the others complete time visiting the
sites in Nauvoo. This evening we enjoy dinner at the famous Hotel
Nauvoo.
Wednesday, September 28
We cross Iowa today where we visit hisotrical sites in Council
Bluffs, including the Kansville Tabernacle where Brigham Young
wes sustained as president of the church in 1847. After dinner
those who desire may attend a session at the Winter Quarters Temple.
Thursday, September 29
We visit the Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters this morning.
After we travel back to Kansas City where we enjoy a goodbye dinner
together before returning to our homes.
Friday, September 30
We shuttle individually to the airport from our Kansas City hotel
to prepare for our return flight home.
$675 per person, double occupancy
$625 per person, triple $575 per person quad. $875 single
Price includes bus, hotels, average of 2 meals per day, excludes
air. We do have airfare from Salt Lake to Kansas City available
for $335.
