President LaVern Parmley of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints who asked her board to come up with ideas for a symbol
to assist seven-year-old children in learning the teachings of
Jesus. Since then the CTR ring has become a symbol for the curriculum
of LDS Primary Classes everywhere. The LDS Church provides an
inexpensive expandable CTR ring free for each child. Through the
years CTR has also become a special reminder to teens and adults
to "choose the right". CTR rings range in price from
$1.95 for a PVC adjustable primary ring to several hundred dollars
for some 14k gold and white gold rings.
Silver ctr rings start at $8.95 and most average less than $30.00.
